Hum Fit Toh India Hit

‘Make fitness your favourite habit.’

The Vedansh International School organized Bolly Zumba in the school premises on January 12, 2020, on the special occasion of ‘National Youth Day’. It was conducted by Mr. Gaurav Mishra, Dance Ambassador-Terence Lewis Academy, Dir. Joy of Dance. This program was free of cost for all the enthusiastic Indorians with delicious breakfast.

‘Every day is another chance to get stronger, to eat better, to live healthier,
and to be the best version of you.’

If you really want to excel in your life, you have to be fit. By doing such kind of
activities, we set an example for the coming generation. In addition, we tried to spread awareness about the fitness in the society.

‘Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and
your mood.’

Exercising regularly, every day if possible, is the single most important thing we can
do for our health. In the short term, exercise helps to control appetite, boost mood, and improve sleep. In long term, it reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, dementia, depression etc.

The dance workout is one of the most popular group exercises in the world. The best
thing is that you don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in a Zumba activity. ‘There is no rule in Zumba—- Just shake it till you make it.’ Working up a sweat in the Zumba dance burns an average of 369 calories-more than cardio kickboxing or step aerobics. You will get a great cardio workout that melts fat, strengthens your core, and improves flexibility. The Zumba exercise moves between high and low intensity dance moves designed to get your heart rate up and boost cardio endurance.

Not only Zumba, the school organizes many co-curricular activities for students as
well as parents. We know that education without co-curricular activities is like educating the mind without educating the soul. At the time of NAVRATRI UTSAV the school conducted ‘Garba Fest’, in which around 300 children as well as parents participated with full energy. Moreover, in Pre-wing every year the school celebrates Matra-Pitra Diwas and Grandparents’ Day. In Grandparents’ Day the school organizes different types of games, fashion show and dance activities for them which they enjoy a lot. Along with enjoyment, the school gives them chance to involve in different recreational activities. Recreation plays a key role in the well-being of senior citizens. The school tries to make them aware towards their health and fitness.

The aim of the school is to work for the well-being of the whole society, that’s why they had given an excellent opportunity to all the Indorians to be the part of ‘Hum Fit toh India Hit’. Around 500 parents participated in this fitness celebration and
enjoyed a cool morning with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Afs International Program Workshop

AFS International is an international youth exchange organization. It consists of over 50 independent, not-for-profit organizations. We chose 45 students and 3 teacher-volunteers from our school as the members of AFS. On October 23, 2019 our school organized a workshop for the participating students. It provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.

AFS enables people to act as responsible global citizens, working for peace and understanding in a diverse world. It encourages respect for human rights and fundamental freedom without distinction as to race, gender, language, religion or social status. Ms. Sarita Badhwar, consultant of AFS took the workshop and explained the work of AFS. Dr. Divya Gupta, founder of Jwala Organization also addressed the students and told them about her organization. Our students donated clothes, shoes, stationery, blankets etc. to Jwala Organization. By this program our
students learnt the importance of charity.
